The Golf Paradis is a 54 hole mini golf complex that offers a choice of three very different 18 hole courses, although you will be allocated a specific course on buying the ticket in an attempt to minimise waiting time during play. The courses are all set in lush gardens with waterfalls, palm trees, lakes and even a windmill, and costs approximately 5€ per round of 18 holes. Contact details are:

On the outskirts of Sa Coma, on the road leading into Cala Millor and Cala Bona, is the Auto Safari Zoo. Visitors have the choice of driving around the 3km circuit in their own car, or taking the zoo's own min train, although having seen the damage a group of hungry monkeys can do in a matter of seconds I think the mini train is the better option. Besides the monkey enclosure, the park also has a number of giraffes, zebra, and elephants along with cages of lions, tigers and other big cats. Getting there from either Cala Bona or Cala Millor is very easy on the parks own courtesy bus which leaves regularly throughout the day from 9am to 7pm. Admission is quite reasonable at 19€ for adults and 12€ for children. Contact details for more information are:

As we briefly mentioned on the general introduction page, the 200 hectare Punta de n'Amer headland is situated mid way between Sa Coma and Cala Millor. This whole area was declared a protected nature reserve in 1985 by the local council, and remains to remind us of what the whole of the east coast looked like before the tourist boom. Walking up to the ancient watchtower of Castell de n'Amer takes around 45 minutes from both Sa Coma and Cala Millor, where visitors can see a small display of weapons along with other historical information about the tower. Never wishing to miss an opportunity, there is also is a bar at the top selling drinks and snacks that has some spectacular views of the coast line.

If you ever need a break from swimming and sunbathing, Sa Coma also has a small riding stable at the edge of the resort, almost opposite the Burger King and the beach. Although not being an expert, the horses and ponies looked to be both well fed and well treated. The attraction is very popular with visitors and advanced booking is essential especially during the summer. The ride out to the Punta de n'Amer headland usually takes about an hour and costs approximately 8.50€ per person.

For some bizarre reason the nearby resort of Cala Millor holds its annual Tourism Week during the last week of September, when ironically most of the tourists have actually left the island. This annual event features a number of sports competitions, concerts, and a spectacular and colourful parade of floats through the town.

If you've hired a car and can get out of the resort, the east coast does have a number of other attractions worth a visit.

Discovered by Pedro Caldentey in 1905, the Caves of Hams are famous for their peculiar formations, and for their marvelous underground lake. If you are driving they are 2 km West of Porto Cristo. Opening times from March to October is 10am to 6pm and from November to February 10:30am to 5:30pm. Entrance fee for adults is around £8.00. Full contact details are:
