Playa de Palma Attractions

Beyond the beach and it's water sports facilities, the actual resort of Playa de Palma doesn't have a great deal of attractions and amenities, when compared to the many of the other familiar south coast resorts to the west of Palma. However in all fairness, most visitors do tend to choose this resort for it's convenience of access to facilities and nightlife of both El Arenal and the islands capital Palma, rather than those on the resort doorstep.

As be briefly mentioned on the previous "general introduction" page, the three resorts of C'an Pastilla, Playa de Palma and El Arenal are joined by a wide traffic free promenade. Whilst it is an enjoyable walk between the two, for a cost of around 3€ each the Mini Train is a convenient alternative.

An excellent bus service runs approximately every 15 minutes from Playa de Palma into Palma, and costs a very reasonable 1€ per person, or 65p each way. But please be aware these buses do get extremely crowded and sometimes are known to attract pickpockets, so keep a tight hold on your valuables at all times.

Although the City of Palma is the commercial and cultural centre of Majorca, the depth of history, culture and nightlife there often takes visitors by surprise. The easiest way to "see Palma in a day" is by the Number 50 sightseeing bus, which runs on average every 20 minutes throughout the day, and takes in all the major sights of the city. In common with most City Tour buses around Europe, you can hop on and off the bus at any point, and tickets are valid for a 24 hour period. The total journey time for the round trip is 1 hour 20 minutes and costs 15€ for adults and 7.50€ for children under 16.

Looking now towards El Arenal, certainly worth a visit is the Golf Fantasia mini golf course. This is the sister course to the one of the same name in Palma Nova, and features 54 holes of crazy golf in a Jurassic Park setting, which and is without doubt one of the best mini golf courses in Majorca. Palma Aquarium is a spectacular marine park that faithfully recreates sea and oceanic habitats and ecosystems. The park provides visitors with a unique and unforgettable experience: interaction, surprises and endless educational elements that all pursue one fundamental objective: To foster understanding and wonder for the sea’s beauty.

The 55 aquariums contain an exceptional range of flora and fauna from the Mediterranean Sea and the Indian, Atlantic and Pacific Oceans. Palma Aquarium introduces visitors to this unknown world by faithfully recreating life in marine ecosystems and natural animal habitats. 8000 specimens from 700 different species in 5 million litres of seawater. The biggest water park on Mallorca called Aqualand el Arenal, is also on the outskirts of the resort. It's open at 10am everyday during the summer months until October, although we feel that entry prices are a little steep at 26€ for adults and 18€ for children. This attraction also becomes very popular during high season with most of the major tour operators running trips here from all over the island. For further information contact details are:
