Built in 1974 and extensively refurbished during the winter of 2000, the modern Hotel Melia Palas Atenea has a total of 361 guest rooms, including 329 double rooms, 24 singles and a further 8 Junior Suites, which are built over 8 floors and set amidst 1,900m2 of sun terraces overlooking the Bay of Palma.

All guest rooms at the hotel are either centrally heated or air conditioned according to the season, and come equipped with a fully fitted en suite bathroom with shower, hairdryer and cosmetic mirror, along with a safety deposit box available for rental, direct dial telephone, a high speed internet connection, satellite and interactive television, a mini bar and either a balcony or terrace, most of which have exterior views over the bay. In addition to the above, a number of rooms have been specially adapted for disabled guests, and all rooms are also provided with a maid service, undertaking a change of towels as required and change of bed linen twice a week.

Guest facilities on offer include a 24 hour reception area with currency exchange services, along with luggage and courtesy rooms with showers for late departures, laundry and medical services, public internet terminals, the air conditioned à la carte El Laurel and Diana restaurants, a games room and both lounge and pool bars.

For business guests, the Hotel Melia Palas Atenea also offers a fully staffed Business Center with eighteen conference and meeting rooms seating a maximum of 500 people, all of which are equipped the latest state-of-the-art audiovisual equipment with flip-charts, writing materials, sweets etc all provided at no extra charge.

Sporting and leisure facilities available to guests include an outdoor freshwater swimming pool with a large furnished sun terrace overlooking the Bay of Palma as well as a Health and Wellness Center offering guests an additional smaller heated indoor swimming-pool.
