Part of the Universal Group of hotels, the 3 star Hotel Florida has an enviable location perched
high on the Torrenova headland overlooking the lively resort of Magaluf on the south west coast
of Majorca. The hotel is approximately 20km west of the capital Palma and the Son Sant Joan
International airport, and around 800 metres from the centre of the resort where you will find
a wide selection of bars, restaurants, shops and nightlife. Built in 1966 and extensively refurbished during the winter 2006, the modern Hotel Florida has a total of 204 guest rooms, which are built over 9 floors and set amidst spacious Mediterranean style gardens and sun terraces around a large central pool area overlooking the magnificent Bay of Palma. All guest rooms at the hotel are centrally heated according to the season, and come equipped with a fully fitted "en suite" bathroom with shower and hairdryer, along with a safety deposit box available for rental, direct dial telephone, satellite television with music channels, ceiling fan and either a balcony or terrace, many of which have exterior views over the pool and garden area towards the sea. In addition to the above features, all guest rooms at the hotel are also provided with a maid service undertaking a change of towels as required, and change of bed linen once a week. Guest facilities on offer includes a 24 hour reception desk with currency exchange services, and both luggage and courtesy rooms for late departures, along with an air conditioned buffet style restaurant and snack bar, offering a choice of traditional Spanish, international and vegetarian menus, public internet terminals, laundry and medical services, a games room and both lounge and pool bars. Sporting and leisure facilities available to guests includes a large outdoor freshwater swimming pool for adults, with integrated children's section, and spacious sun terraces and gardens which are furnished with loungers and parasols. The Hotel Florida also provides a seasonal programme of evening entertainment with either live music, cabaret or other professional shows several times each week. From mid June to the end of August each year, guests staying at the Hotel Florida are for the most part younger couples and young groups of friends. During this period there is a very lively atmosphere until late at night, and therefore may not be suitable for families, those travelling with young children, or guests looking for peace and quiet. Guests should also be aware that due to its cliff top location, this property is not suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
