Aparthotel Iberostar Royal Cristina - Playa de Palma

Part of the prestigious Iberostar Group of hotels, the 4 star Aparthotel Royal Cristina is situated around 100 metres from the sea front promenade and wide sandy beach, in the lively resort of Playa de Palma on the central southern coast of Majorca. The hotel is approximately 8km east of the capital Palma, 3km south east of the Son Sant Joan International airport, and a few steps from the commercial centre of the resort, where you will find a wide selection of bars, restaurants and shops.

Built in 1989, with most of the communal areas being renovated during the winter of 2002/2003, the modern low rise Aparthotel Royal Cristina has a total of 330 guest rooms, including 136 standard twin rooms, 4 Junior Suites and a further 190 one bedroom self catering apartments and studio flats, all of which are distributed between 2 four storey buildings, and set amidst almost 3,200m2 of Mediterranean style gardens and sun terraces around a large central pool area.

All guest rooms at the hotel are either air conditioned or centrally heated according to the season, and come equipped with a modern fully fitted "en suite" bathroom with shower and hairdryer, along with a direct dial telephone, mini bar, satellite television with music channels, safety deposit box available for rental, and either a balcony or terrace, most of which have exterior views over the pool and garden area.

In addition to the above features, both apartments and studio flats at the Aparthotel Royal Cristina also have an open plan kitchenette with refrigerator, and a combined lounge/dining room with sofa beds, and all guest rooms are provided with a daily maid service, undertaking a change of towels as required and change of bed linen twice a week.

Guest facilities on offer includes a 24 hour reception area with currency exchange services, and both luggage and courtesy rooms for late departures, along with an air conditioned buffet style restaurant and snack bar, offering a choice of traditional Spanish, international and vegetarian menus, as well as a games room, public internet terminals with WiFi access in selected areas of the hotel, laundry and medical services, and both lounge and pool bars.

For business guests, the Aparthotel Royal Cristina also offers the use of 3 large air conditioned conference and meeting rooms, seating up to a maximum of 400 people, all of which are equipped with a selection of modern audio visual aids, including WiFi internet access.

Sporting and leisure facilities available to guests includes a large outdoor freshwater swimming pool for adults, with a separate smaller children's splash pool, and spacious sun terraces and gardens which are furnished with loungers and parasols. Other leisure facilities include a children's playground and mini club, as well as a smaller indoor heated pool, which is open during the cooler winter months, two hard surface tennis courts and a multi sports activity area for football and volleyball etc.

Of special interest to cyclists, the Aparthotel Royal Cristina also has a specially adapted area for storing, maintaining and repairing bicycles, which is equipped with individual security fittings, as well as a selection of basic cleaning and repair tools. Also based at the hotel is the "Diana Sportreisen" organisation, which offers guests guided cycling tours of the island 4 times a week, which have five different levels of difficulty and are accompanied by both German and English speaking guides. Also for those visitors who wish to cycle alone, they also offers a special road map of Majorca, with recommended tracks and elevation diagrams.

Other leisure facilities at the Aparthotel Royal Cristina includes the large and well equipped Thai Zen Space Spa and Wellness Center, offering guests a variety of cosmetic and beauty treatments including a heated salt-water indoor pool with various water-massage mechanisms, saunas, Turkish bath, massage cabins, shower jet and underwater massage baths, sponge bath therapy, inhalation cabin and aromatherapy, diet programmes and medical consultations.

The Aparthotel Royal Cristina also provides a seasonal programme of daytime sporting activities, organised each day by their resident animation team, featuring rifle shooting, water polo and aerobics, as well as evening entertainment with a children's mini disco, which is then followed by either live music, cabaret or other professional shows several times each week.
