Built in 1971 and fully renovated during the winter of 2001, the modern Hotel Tonga has a total of 406 guest rooms, including 271 twin rooms, 51 singles and a further 84 Suites, that are built over 15 floors and set amidst almost 20,000m2 of Mediterranean style gardens and sun terraces around a large central pool area.

All guest rooms at the hotel have a ceiling fan, and come equipped with a fully fitted en suite bathroom with shower, a satellite television, direct dial telephone, safety deposit box available for rental and either a balcony or terrace, many of which have exterior views over the sea. In addition to the above a daily maid service is also provided, undertaking a change of towels as required and change of bed linen once a week.

Guest facilities on offer include a 24 hour reception area with currency exchange services, luggage and courtesy rooms for late departures, along with an air conditioned buffet style restaurant with show cooking, offering guests a choice of traditional Spanish, international and vegetarian dishes, as well as a games room, snack bar, laundry and medical services and both pool and lounge bars.

Sporting and leisure facilities available to guests includes a choice of 2 large outdoor freshwater swimming pools with separate children's splash pool, and spacious sun terraces and gardens which are furnished with loungers and parasols. Other leisure facilities include a children's playground and mini club, 3 hard surface tennis courts, and both pool and table tennis tables.

The Hotel Tonga also provides a seasonal programme of daytime sporting activities, organised each day by their resident animation team, featuring boules, water polo and aerobics, as well as evening entertainment with a children's mini disco which is then followed by either live music, cabaret or other professional shows several times each week.
