Built in 1972 and extensively refurbished during the winter of 2002, the modern low rise Hotel Sumba has a total of 280 guest rooms, including 252 standard twin rooms and a further 28 singles, which are built over 5 floors and set amidst almost 700m2 of well kept Mediterranean style gardens and sun terraces around a large central pool area overlooking the sea.

All guest rooms at the hotel are either air conditioned or centrally heated according to the season and come equipped with a fully fitted "en suite" bathroom with shower, hairdryer and magnifying mirror, along with a satellite television, direct dial telephone, safety deposit box available for rental, refrigerator, and either a balcony or terrace, many of which have exterior views over the pool and garden towards the sea.

In addition to the above features, 10 rooms at the Hotel Sumba have also been specially adapted for disabled guests, and all rooms are provided with a daily maid service, undertaking a change of towels as required, and change of bed linen twice a week.

Guest facilities on offer includes a 24 hour reception area with currency exchange services, and both luggage and courtesy rooms for late departures, along with a games room, an air conditioned buffet style restaurant and snack bar, offering a choice of traditional Spanish, international and vegetarian menus, public internet terminals, with complimentary high speed WiFi access available in selected areas, laundry and medical services, and both lounge and pool bars.

For business guests, the Hotel Sumba also offers the use of a large air conditioned conference and meeting room, seating a maximum of 50 people, which is fully equipped with a selection of modern audio visual aids including high speed WiFi internet access.

Sporting and leisure facilities available to guests includes a large outdoor freshwater swimming pool for adults, with a separate children's splash pool, and spacious sun terraces and gardens which are furnished with loungers and parasols. Other leisure facilities includes a children's playground and fully air-conditioned mini club, along with a mini golf course, and both pool and table tennis tables.

Guests staying at the Hotel Sumba also have the opportunity to relax and unwind at the hotels' own Health and Beauty Centre, which features a smaller indoor heated swimming pool with sauna, Jacuzzi and cardiovascular gymnasium, as well as offering a variety of other cosmetic and massage treatments.

The Hotel Sumba also provides a seasonal programme of daytime sporting activities, organised each day by their resident animation team, featuring petanque, water polo and aerobics, as well as evening entertainment with a children's mini disco, which is then followed by either live music, cabaret or other professional shows several times each week.

In recognition of the Hoteles Globales Group high standards of customer care and management systems, the Hotel Sumba has been awarded the internationally renowned certification of ISO 9001:2000 Certificate for Quality, as well as ISO 14001:2004 certification awarded for the achievement of the highest standards in environmental management procedures.
