Built in 1967 and extensively refurbished during the winter of 1987, the modern Hotel Sol Balmoral has a total of 363 guest rooms, including 277 standard twins rooms in the 7 storey main building, 38 twin rooms in the annexe, and a further 48 one bedroom self catering apartments which are distributed between 3 additional low rise blocks. All of which are then set amidst almost 35,000m2 of landscaped Mediterranean style gardens and sun terraces around a large central pool area.

All guest rooms at the hotel have a ceiling fan, and come equipped with a fully fitted "en suite" bathroom with shower, along with a direct dial telephone, satellite television, safety deposit box available for rental, and either a balcony or terrace, many of which have exterior views over the pool and garden area towards the sea.

In addition to the above features, apartments at the Hotel Sol Balmoral also have a large double bedroom, along with an open plan kitchenette with refrigerator, cooker, microwave oven and all other essentials, and a combined lounge/dining room with satellite television. All guest rooms at the hotel are also provided with a maid service, undertaking a change of towels as required, and change of bed linen once a week.

Guest facilities on offer includes a 24 hour reception area with currency exchange services, and both luggage and courtesy rooms with showers for late departures, along with public internet terminals, a games room, a large on-site supermarket, laundry and medical services, an air conditioned buffet style restaurant and snack bar with show-cooking, offering a choice of traditional Spanish, international and vegetarian menus, and both lounge and pool bars.

Sporting and leisure facilities available to guests include a choice of 2 large outdoor freshwater swimming pools for adults, with separate children's section, and spacious sun terraces and gardens which are furnished with loungers and parasols. Other leisure facilities includes a children's playground and mini club, available at the nearby Hotel Sol Chihuahuas, as well as 2 hard surface tennis courts, a multi sports activity area for volleyball and five-a-side football etc, and both pool and table tennis tables.

The Hotel Sol Balmoral also provides a seasonal programme of daytime sporting activities, organised each day by their resident animation team, featuring aerobics, archery and various water sports, as well as evening entertainment with a children's mini disco which is then followed by either live music, cabaret or other professional shows several times each week.
