Built in 1970 and extensively refurbished during the winter of 1995, the modern Hotel Playa Esperanza has a total of 332 guest rooms, including 275 twin rooms, 29 singles and a further 28 Suites, all of which are built over 7 floors and set amidst almost 60,000m2 of Mediterranean style gardens and sun terraces around a large central pool area overlooking the sea.

All guest rooms at the hotel are either air conditioned or centrally heated according to the season, and come equipped with a fully fitted en suite bathroom with shower and hairdryer, along with a direct dial telephone, satellite television, safety deposit box available for rental, mini bar and either a balcony or terrace, most of which have exterior views over the pool and garden area towards the sea. In addition to the above features, Suites at the Hotel Playa Esperanza have a lounge area with two convertible sofa beds, and all guest rooms at the hotel are also provided with a daily maid service, undertaking a change of towels as required and change of bed linen twice a week.

Guest facilities on offer include a 24 hour reception area with currency exchange desk, luggage and courtesy rooms for late departures, along with an air conditioned buffet style restaurant offering a choice of traditional Spanish, international and vegetarian menus, as well as a games room, snack bars, public internet terminals, laundry and medical services and both lounge and pool bars. For business guests, the Hotel Playa Esperanza also offers the use of 3 large air conditioned conference and meeting rooms, seating a maximum of 320 guests, which are all fully equipped with the latest state-of-the-art audiovisual equipment.

Sporting and leisure facilities available to guests includes a large outdoor freshwater swimming pool with separate children's splash pool, and spacious sun terraces and gardens which are furnished with loungers and parasols. Other leisure facilities include a children's playground and mini club as well as a tennis court and a multi sports activity area for football and volley ball etc.

In 2005 a 700m2 Spa and Wellness Centre was also opened at the hotel, offering guests an additional indoor heated swimming pool with sauna, Jacuzzi, Turkish bath and gymnasium, along with a variety of other cosmetic and beauty treatments.

The Hotel Playa Esperanza also provides a seasonal programme of daytime sporting activities, organised each day by their resident animation team, featuring rifle shooting, water polo and aerobics, as well as evening entertainment with a children's mini disco which is then followed by either live music, cabaret or other professional shows several times each week.
