Built in 1987 and extensively refurbished during the winter of 2006, the modern low rise Hotel Playa de Muro has a total of 447 guest rooms, including 369 twin rooms, 25 Junior Suites and a further 53 Family Suites, all of which are built over 3 floors and set amidst almost 8,000m² of Mediterranean style gardens and sun terraces around a large central pool area overlooking the sea.

All guest rooms at the hotel are either air conditioned or centrally heated according to the season, and come equipped with a fully fitted en suite bathroom with shower and hairdryer, along with a direct dial telephone, satellite television with music channels, mini bar, safety deposit box available for rental and either a balcony or terrace, most of which have exterior views over the pool and garden area towards the sea. In addition to the above features, Junior Suites at the Hotel Playa de Muro also have a lounge area with two convertible sofa beds, as well as a bathroom containing a hydromassage bath, and Family Suites have a kitchenette with microwave. All guest rooms at the hotel are also provided with a daily maid service, undertaking a change of towels as required and change of bed linen twice a week.

Guest facilities on offer include a 24 hour reception area with currency exchange desk, luggage and courtesy rooms for late departures, along with an air conditioned buffet style restaurant offering a choice of traditional Spanish, international and vegetarian menus, as well as a games room, snack bars, ice-cream parlour, public internet terminals with WiFi access, laundry and medical services and both lounge and pool bars.

Sporting and leisure facilities available to guests includes a large outdoor freshwater swimming pool with separate children's splash pool, and spacious sun terraces and gardens which are furnished with loungers and parasols. Other leisure facilities include a children's playground and mini club as well as a smaller indoor heated swimming pool with sauna, Jacuzzi, gymnasium and beauty farm, offering guests a variety of cosmetic treatments.

The Hotel Playa de Muro also provides a seasonal programme of daytime sporting activities, organised each day by their resident animation team, featuring rifle shooting, water polo and aerobics, as well as evening entertainment with a children's mini disco which is then followed by either live music, cabaret or other professional shows several times each week.

In recognition of the Iberostar Group's high standards of customer care and management systems, the Hotel Playa de Muro has been awarded the internationally recognised Spanish Tourism Quality Institute ´Q´ quality mark which is only granted to establishments which meet the highest standards of continuous improvement in all services.
