Built in 1964 and extensively refurbished during the winter of 2003, the modern low rise Hotel Gran Playa has a total of 177 guest rooms, including 155 twin rooms and a further 22 singles, which are built over 4 floors and set amidst spacious sun terraces around a large central pool area.

All guest rooms at the hotel are either air conditioned or centrally heated according to the season, and come equipped with a fully fitted en suite bathroom with shower and hairdryer, along with a satellite television, direct dial telephone, safety deposit box available for rental and either a balcony or terrace, many of which have exterior views over the pool and garden area. In addition to the above, a maid service is also provided, undertaking a change of towels as required and change of bed linen once a week.

Guest facilities on offer include a 24 hour reception area with currency exchange services, luggage and courtesy rooms for late departures, along with an air conditioned buffet style restaurant with show cooking, offering guests a choice of traditional Spanish, international and vegetarian dishes, as well as a games room, snack bar, laundry and medical services, public internet terminals and both pool and lounge bars.

Sporting and leisure facilities available to guests includes a large outdoor freshwater swimming pool with separate children's section, and spacious sun terraces which are furnished with loungers and parasols. Other leisure facilities include the "Poker" beer garden and both pool and table tennis tables.

The Hotel Gran Playa also provides a seasonal programme of evening entertainment with a children's mini disco which is then followed by either live music, cabaret or other professional shows several times each week.
