Built in 1969 and extensively refurbished during the winter of 2003, the modern Hotel Gran Bahia has a total of 156 guest rooms, including 138 twin rooms and a further 18 singles, which are built over 8 floors and set amidst spacious sun terraces around a large central pool area. In a separate 3 storey annexe, which is situated adjacent to the main hotel building, guests are also offered a further 37 self catering apartments and studio flats.

All guest rooms at the hotel are either air conditioned or centrally heated according to the season, and come equipped with a fully fitted en suite bathroom with shower, along with a satellite television, direct dial telephone, safety deposit box available for rental and either a balcony or terrace, many of which have exterior views over the sea. In addition to the above features, apartments and studios at the Hotel Gran Bahia, although officially graded as "two keys", also have an open plan kitchenette with a refrigerator, along with a combined lounge/dining room with sofa beds. All guest rooms at the hotel are also provided with a daily maid service, undertaking a change of towels as required and change of bed linen once a week.

Guest facilities on offer include a 24 hour reception area with currency exchange services, luggage and courtesy rooms for late departures, along with an air conditioned buffet style restaurant offering a choice of traditional Spanish, international and vegetarian dishes, as well as a games room, supermarket, snack bar, laundry and medical services, public internet terminals and both pool and lounge bars.

Sporting and leisure facilities available to guests includes a large outdoor freshwater swimming pool with separate children's section, and spacious sun terraces and gardens which are furnished with loungers and parasols. Other leisure facilities include a well equipped gymnasium with sauna and Jacuzzi, as well as both pool and table tennis tables.

The Hotel Gran Bahia also provides a seasonal programme of evening entertainment with a children's mini disco which is then followed by either live music, cabaret or other professional shows several times each week.
