Built in 1967 and extensively refurbished during the winter of 1997, the modern Hotel Girasol has a total of 172 guest rooms, including 152 double rooms and a further 20 singles, which are built over 8 floors and set amidst almost 300m2 of sun terraces and Mediterranean style gardens around a large central pool area.

All guest rooms at the hotel are either air conditioned or centrally heated according to the season and come equipped with a fully fitted "en suite" bathroom with shower, along with a satellite television, direct dial telephone, safety deposit box available for rental, mini bar and either a balcony or terrace, many of which have exterior views over the sea. In addition to the above features, a maid service is also provided undertaking a change of towels as required and change of bed linen twice a week.

Guest facilities on offer includes a 24 hour reception area with currency exchange services, and both luggage and courtesy rooms for late departures, along with a games room, an air conditioned buffet style restaurant and snack bar, offering a choice of traditional Spanish, international and vegetarian menus, laundry and medical services, and both lounge and pool bars.

Sporting and leisure facilities available to guests includes a large outdoor freshwater swimming pool for adults, with spacious sun terraces and gardens which are furnished with loungers and parasols. Other leisure facilities include a smaller indoor heated pool, open during the cooler winter months, with cervical massage jets and whirlpool, as well as a children's playground, a hard surface tennis court and multi sports activity area for football and volleyball etc.

In March 2002 the Hotel Girasol also opened its International Yoga and Tai Chi centre, where tuition in these ancient disciplines is available in German, English and Spanish. All of the teachers are fully qualified and have received diplomas from the Spanish Yoga Association (Asociación Española de Practicantes de yoga - A.E.P.Y.), the British Wheel of Yoga (B.W.Y.) or the German Professional Association of Yoga Teachers (Berufsverband Deutscher Yogalehrer-B.D.Y.). In addition to the above the hotel also offers guests a variety of therapeutic massage treatments, with two rooms with a capacity of 16 or 28 persons.
