Built in 1991 and extensively refurbished during the winter of 2007, the modern low rise Hotel Fontanellas Playas has a total of 177 guest rooms, including 143 one bedroom self catering apartments and a further 44 rooms standard twin rooms, which are built over 4 floors, and set amidst almost 1,000m2 of well kept Mediterranean style gardens and sun terraces, around a large central pool area overlooking the magnificent Bay of Palma.

All guest rooms at the hotel are either air conditioned or centrally heated according to the season, and come equipped with a modern "en suite" bathroom with shower and hairdryer, along with an open plan kitchenette with electric cooking rings and refrigerator, a combined lounge/dining room with additional sofa beds, direct dial telephone, satellite television, safety deposit box available for rental and either a balcony or terrace, most of which have exterior views over the pool and garden area towards the sea. In addition to the above features, a daily maid service is also provided, undertaking a change of towels as required, and change of bed linen twice a week.

Guest facilities on offer includes a 24 hour reception area with currency exchange services, and both luggage and courtesy rooms for late departures, along with an air conditioned buffet style restaurant and snack bar, offering a choice of traditional Spanish, international and vegetarian dishes, as well as a games room, laundry and medical services, public internet terminals and both lounge and pool bars.

Sporting and leisure facilities available to guests includes a large outdoor freshwater swimming pool for adults, with integrated children's splash pool, and spacious sun terraces overlooking the sea which are furnished with loungers and parasols. Other leisure facilities includes a children's playground, and both pool and table tennis tables.

Guests staying at the Hotel Fontanellas Playas also have the opportunity to relax and unwind at the hotels' own Health and Wellness Centre, which features a smaller indoor heated swimming pool with sauna, as well as offering a variety of other massage treatments.

Of special interest to sports enthusiasts the Hotel Fontanellas Playas also offers the use of a large multi-sports activity area, along with two hard surface paddle courts, two mini-football fields, as well as a football 7 field.

Of special interest to cyclists, the Aparthotel Madrigal also has a specialist "Cyclist Corner", where guests will find all types of information relevant to cycling around the island, including maps, cartographic details of routes, routes of interest, weather forecasts, books and magazines specialising in environmental issues and other related themes, along with a specially adapted area for storing, maintaining and repairing bicycles, which is equipped with a selection of basic cleaning and repair tools.

The Hotel Fontanellas Playas also provides a seasonal programme of evening entertainment with a children's mini disco, which is then followed by either live music, cabaret or other professional shows several times each week.
