Part of the Hoteles Globales Group of hotels, the 3 star Hotel Pionero, along with its sister hotels the Hotel Santa Ponsa Park and Hotel Playa Santa Ponsa, is situated around 300 metres from the beach in the popular resort of Santa Ponsa on the south west coast of Majorca. The hotel is approximately 30km west of the capital Palma and the Son Sant Joan International airport, and around 300 metres from the centre of the resort where you will find a wide selection of bars, restaurants, shops and nightlife.

Built in 1975 and extensively renovated during the winter of 2002, the modern Hotel Pionero has a total of 310 guest rooms, including 286 double rooms and a further 24 singles, which are built over 5 floors and set amidst spacious Mediterranean style gardens and sun terraces.

All guest rooms at the hotel are either air conditioned or centrally heated according to the season and come equipped a fully fitted en suite bathroom with shower, along with a direct dial telephone, satellite television, refrigerator, ceiling fan, safety deposit box available for rental and either a balcony or terrace, most of which have exterior views over the pool and garden area. In addition to the above, 6 guest rooms at the hotel have also been specially adapted for disabled guests and all rooms are provided with a maid service undertaking a change of towels as required and change of bed linen once a week.

Guest facilities on offer include a 24 hour reception area with currency exchange services along with an air conditioned buffet style restaurant, luggage and courtesy rooms for late departures, laundry and medical services, a games room, public internet terminals and both lounge and pool bars.

In addition to the facilities and services provided on site, guests staying at the Hotel Pionero are also welcome to use the sporting and leisure facilities at both the adjacent Hotel Santa Ponsa Park and Hotel Playa Santa Ponsa, which includes a choice of three outdoor freshwater swimming pools with separate children's pools, and spacious sun terraces and gardens furnished with loungers and parasols. Other leisure facilities include a children's playground and mini club along with a smaller heated indoor swimming pool and sauna.

The Hotel Pionero also provides a seasonal programme of daytime sporting activities featuring petanque, archery and aerobics as well as evening entertainment with live music, cabaret and other professional shows several times each week.
