Built in 1986 and extensively refurbished during the winter of 2004, the modern Protur Atalaya complex has a total of 120 guest rooms, offering a choice of both one bedroom self catering apartments and studio flats, which are built over 10 floors, and set amidst almost 200m2 of gardens and sun terraces around a large central pool area.

All guest rooms on the complex are either air conditioned or centrally heated according to the season and come equipped with a fully fitted "en suite" bathroom with shower, along with an open plan kitchenette with 2 electric cooking rings‚ microwave oven and toaster, a combined lounge/dining room with sofa beds, direct dial telephone, satellite television, safety deposit box available for rental and either a balcony or terrace, most of which have exterior views over the pool and garden area. In addition to the above features, a maid service is also provided 5 times a week, undertaking a change of towels as required, and change of bed linen once a week.

Guest facilities on offer includes a 24 hour reception area with currency exchange services, and both luggage and courtesy rooms for late departures, along with a games room, an air conditioned buffet style restaurant and snack bar, offering a choice of traditional Spanish, international and vegetarian menus, public internet terminals, laundry and medical services, and both lounge and pool bars.

Sporting and leisure facilities available to guests include a large outdoor freshwater swimming pool for adults, with a separate smaller children's splash pool, and spacious sun terraces which are furnished with loungers and parasols. Other leisure facilities include a children's playground and mini club, and both pool and table tennis tables.

The Protur Atalaya Apartments also provides a seasonal programme of daytime sporting activities, organised each day by their resident animation team, featuring boules, water polo and aerobics, as well as evening entertainment with a children's mini disco which is then followed by either live music, cabaret or other professional shows several times each week.
