Built in 1988 and partially renovated during the winter of 2003/4, the modern low rise Aparthotel Viva Playa Port Vell has a total of 162 guest rooms, including 156 self catering apartments and 6 studio flats, that are built over 4 floors and set amidst spacious Mediterranean style gardens and sun terraces overlooking the beach.

All guest rooms on the complex are either air conditioned or centrally heated according to the season and come equipped with a modern "en suite" bathroom with shower, along with a lounge with sofa beds, direct dial telephone, satellite television, kitchenette with microwave and fridge, safety deposit box available for rental and either a balcony or terrace, most of which have sea views. In addition to the above, 4 guest rooms on the complex have also been specially adapted for disabled guests, and all rooms are provided with a maid service undertaking a change of towels as required and change of bed linen once a week.

Guest facilities on offer on the complex include a 24 hour reception area with currency exchange services, along with a small on site supermarket, luggage and courtesy rooms for late departures, a games room, public internet terminals, laundry and medical services, an air conditioned buffet style restaurant and both lounge and pool bars.
